360 Giving both publishes a standard and maintains a data repository related to grant awards. The full dataset contains very rich data covering many sectors. This page is an initial attempt to filter by culture organisations. Regrettably, there is no simple way of filtering by culture in the dataset, so this analysis takes the approach of including certain funders and programmes, and excluding a list of irrelevant funds from the funders.
The raw data is extracted from from a filtered search of the 360 Giving GrantNav tool.
The extracted data is further filtered to include only the following culture-related grant awards, and to exclude any COVID related grants. This inclusion / exclusion is managed in a CSV file comprising the Funding Organisation, Grant Programme, and columns to specify a cultural fund and to identify COVID-related funds. The longlist is derived from any organisations that have funded any organisation based in Newcastle.
It proved challenging to reliably determine which funds and loans described by this dataset relate to the culture sector. This data has consequently not been included in any aggregated reports, and is included here to demonstrate a potential source of funding-related open data.
You can review this list of included funders below. Once opened, you can make changes to the content of the file, and download your changes. NB No alterations you make will be applied to the data stored in the site.
